Students at Cornell University are eligible for several different options for Microsoft Office. Some of these options are available at no cost, while others require payment of a licensing fee. Please contact the CU Software office at cusoftware@cornell.edu with any questions.
All of these programs are available to registered matriculated students at Cornell University. All of these programs cover installation onto computers that are a student's personal property. Some programs may have additional eligibility requirements that will be mentioned in the program descriptions.

Cornell-Provided Services (No Fee)

Office 365 ProPlus for Students

Currently-registered students have access to the full Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus suite of desktop applications. These include for Windows and Mac: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Skype. For Windows, Access, Publisher, and InfoPath are also included. The license will remain valid for as long as a student remains registered.
Office 365 Productivity Bundle

Currently-registered students have access to a suite of Office 365 online productivity tools for cloud-based access and collaboration. These services include: SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Office Online, Yammer, and Delve. Access to these services is available for as long as a student remains registered.
G Suite for Education

Students at Cornell can use Google's online applications available through G Suite for Education to upload, read, and edit files created in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Files can also be downloaded in Microsoft-compatible formats.

Instructors and students at Cornell can access a suite of education-focused Microsoft development tools. Products available through this service include Visual Studio, Project, Visio, and Windows 10 Education Edition. This service is provided by Microsoft. Products acquired through this service may only be used for instructional purposes.

Students may purchase their own license for Office rather than using one provided by the University. This may be the only option for people studying at Cornell who are not enrolled into a degree program or are otherwise not registered as regular Cornell students.

There are other alternatives to Microsoft Office that allow the ability to read, edit, and create documents in Microsoft Office formats. Please note that the following options are listed as a courtesy to the Cornell community, and that Cornell does not provide support for them.

Who is eligible for Weill Cornell Connect?
Any patient 12 years old or over is eligible for a Connect account. In addition, parents can be given portal proxy access to manage their children's accounts, or patients can grant access to their own accounts to family members, friends, or caregivers. Please see the Terms and Conditions for further information.
What is Weill Cornell Connect?
Weill Cornell Connect is your patient portal, offering you personalized and secure online access to view portions of your medical records and manage your healthcare.
Through Weill Cornell Connect, you have access to:
- Telehealth services, including follow-up Video Visits, eCheck-In and urgent care on demand
- Test results
- Online appointments
- Online bill payment
- Simpler communication with your provider’s office
- A record of all appointments, emergency room visits, and inpatient stays
- After-visit summaries
If you do not have a Weill Cornell Connect account, you can sign up online.
If you have medical records at NewYork-Presbyterian or Columbia University Irving Medical Center, you can also access them through Weill Cornell Connect.
How do I sign up for Weill Cornell Connect?
You will receive an activation code after your visit. You can also sign up online if you do not have an activation code.
Is Weill Cornell Connect secure?
We are committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your health information. All communication between you and your healthcare provider and care team using Weill Cornell Connect is carried over a secure, encrypted connection.
Encryption means the information is coded in such a way that no one can read it during transmission. This secure connection utilizes industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit encryption.
Your health records are stored behind a firewall to prohibit unauthorized access. In addition, Weill Cornell Connect access requires a username and password that you create yourself.
How do I schedule a video visit?
Many providers have video visits available through the online scheduling portion of Weill Cornell Connect. Look for “Video Visit” when you are scheduling your appointment.
Otherwise, when you contact the department to schedule your appointment, ask them if a video visit is appropriate for the type of appointment that you would like to schedule.

Will Weill Cornell Connect have all of my prior health records?
You can now access key components of your current medical history from Weill Cornell Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian and Columbia University Irving Medical Center in one patient portal.
Log into Weill Cornell Connect to review these records with your provider. Rest assured that your doctors will also have access to your full record.
Can I pay my bills securely on Weill Cornell Connect?
You can pay your Weill Cornell Medicine provider bills online through Weill Cornell Connect. Logging into Weill Cornell Connect also allows you to pay bills from Columbia and NewYork-Presbyterian, if you have received services from them.
You can also use the Weill Cornell Medicine app — available for both Apple and Android devices — to pay your Weill Cornell Medicine services.
All electronic fund transfers and payments are compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards. If you have questions about your statement, please reach out to customer service by calling the phone number on your statement or by sending an electronic message through Connect.
How do I get proxy access to another account?
For proxy access to another account (e.g., a child’s account), please contact the provider’s office. If you are a patient and have a MyChart account already, the office can link the second account to yours. If you are not a patient, you will need to create a Connect account first.
